A Matcha Smoothie

A Matcha Smoothie

The cold brew challenge is over! Embrace a healthier alternative for sustained energy by switching to invigorating matcha-based smoothies. Say goodbye to jittery nerves and "cold brew hangovers" with this refreshing option. Not only are matcha smoothies visually appealing for your Instagram feed, but they also keep hunger at bay and provide a lasting, sustainable energy boost to keep you focused all day long.

Crafting the perfect green matcha smoothie is an art. Stick to the golden rule: 60% fruits to 40% leafy greens ratio for a delicious and nutritious blend. If the taste leans too bitter, balance it out with natural, raw sweeteners like coconut nectar, pitted dates, mangoes, apples, or pears.

Enhance your smoothie with nutrient - packed boosters like hemp seeds and matcha powder. Hemp seeds offer a protein and essential fatty acid boost, promoting heart health, easing PMS and menopause symptoms, and aiding digestion. Meanwhile, matcha powder, celebrated as a powerhouse superfood, brings a sense of calmness, improved memory, and enhanced concentration - an ideal coffee alternative.

Now, for the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1tsp fresh ginger
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 tsp Green Zen matcha powder
  • 1 scoop of protein (we love Sakara's protein + greens super powder)
  • 1 tsp coconut nectar (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the ingredients: Slice the cucumber, halve and seed the lemon, halve and pit the avocado, and peel and chop the ginger. Measure out the spinach, almond milk, hemp seeds, and matcha powder.
  2. Squeeze lemon juice into your blender, then add the remaining ingredients. Add a few ice cubes if desired.
  3. Measure out one scoop of protein powder
  4. Blend until smooth, adjusting the consistency with more almond milk or water if necessary. Add coconut nectar for sweetness to taste (optional).
  5. Serve in a glass and enjoy immediately or refrigerate overnight for a convenient breakfast option.
